Il passo

Thursday, November 16th at 7.30 pm and 9 pm, will see the presentation of the final event of the cycle of study days on the art of the scene entitled “Il passo” (“The step”), conceived and led by Romeo Castellucci with Silvia Rampelli, produced by Triennale in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture’s General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity.

Fifteen participants and one dramaturg were selected through a public call for entries. The group, composed of professionals and students in the field of contemporary arts (visual arts, design, music, graphics, photography, theater) participated in sixteen meetings whose lines of work were:

Il passo.

How the manifold gathers in the one, the possible in the made: an immersive practice in the art of the scene.

Castellucci and Rampelli involved outside guests as guides for this project:
Lucia Amara, stage art theorist; Giovanni Agosti, art critic; Corrado Bologna, philologist; Roberto Cuoghi, visual artist; Federico Ferrari, philosopher; Scott Gibbons, musician and composer; Patrizio Esposito, photographer; Roberta Ioli, scholar of the ancient world; Gaetano Lettieri, university professor; Sergej Loznitsa, film director; Pasquale Mari, lighting designer and director of photography; Francesca Proia, choreographer, author and yoga teacher; Simon Vincenzi, theater director.

The 16-day journey concludes with an opening to the public, in which the participants of “Il passo” will propose their performative actions.

The project includes the edition of a publication that will be entrusted to the dramaturg Milla De Martino and the graphic design of Patrizio Esposito, and will bring together the reflections generated by the days of work. Some insights will be published in the Triennale Milano magazine and on the website of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity.
