Societas invites anyone interested in taking part as an actor or actress in Romeo Castellucci’s upcoming production, Faust, to submit a video recording.

To participate in Faust as an actor or actress, applicants must be available from September 13 through December 20, 2026, and again from January through July 2027.
A detailed schedule of rehearsal and performance dates will be communicated to the selected performers.

Selected actors and actresses will be offered a fixed-term employment contract with a gross daily wage of €130.00.
When touring, travel, accommodation, and per diem will be provided.

Anyone wishing to participate in Faust should film themselves performing the following actions and send the recordings, together with the duly completed and signed release form (available for download here), by 10 August to the following email address: [email protected]

In order for the application to be evaluated, the video materials must be accompanied by the signed release form.

Actions:

Crying tears in a room

Not knowing where to go in a room

No longer knowing who to be in a room

Not knowing where to place a chair in a room

No longer knowing how to speak

Holding the small saucer of a coffee cup in your mouth, closing your eyes, falling asleep with it, and slowly sliding to the floor in a room

Praying on your knees in a room

Letting your face be caressed by the floor in a room

In a dark room, whispering a few sentences about yourself, not necessarily meant to be understood

Societas/Romeo Castellucci is not interested in CVs, professional experience, age, beauty, language, ethnicity, or physical training, but only in the spirit of the body, synthesis, and courage.
