Archive SRS

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5TH, at TEATRO COMANDINI in Cesena

From 6 pm to 10.30 pm

Free entrance

Exhibition of documents tracing the pre-digital history and material from the archives of Società – later Societas – Raffaello Sanzio from 1981 to 2006, and launch of the dedicated website, created on the Archiui platform. The Archive consists of a collection of posters, photographs, drawings, notes, scripts, paintings, books and videos that can be discovered and consulted on site.

The day will feature two events that are crucial to the history of the Company: the first, at 7 p.m., is a brief commemoration of theatre critic Giuseppe Bartolucci (1923-1996) by scholar Adele Cacciagrano, entitled: Beppe Bartolucci: sentinella sempre in fuga (Beppe Bartolucci: sentinel always on the run). ‘It is a trajectory in the analytical performativity of this critical spectator who became a nomenclator of the scene, constantly moving between branching signs, existential peripheries and metropolitan horizons, in constant search of the signs of the contemporary.’ The second, at 8.30 pm, is the large-screen projection of the video montage of the show that first brought Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio to international attention: Hamlet. The vehement exteriority of a mollusc’s death, edited by Pier Paolo Zimmermann. The exploration will occupy the entire space of the Teatro Comandini, with sound by Demetrio Castellucci (Unarcheology, Radio Chimæra).

The Historical Archive of the Societas Raffaello Sanzio is recognised by the Soprintendenza Archivistica of Emilia Romagna. The website was created on the Archiui platform thanks to European and regional contributions obtained through the call for proposal PNRR-Transizione Digitale Organismi Culturali e Creativi (PNRR-Digital Transition Cultural and Creative Organisations), a project funded by the European Union-Next Generation EU and the PR FESR 2021-2027 (European Regional Development Fund – Emilia-Romagna Region) call for proposals for the digitisation of cultural heritage (Digital Humanities). With the contribution of the Directorate-General for Archives of the Italian Ministry of Culture.
